148. Hayden Croft “Last Wish”

Hayden Croft at FILA 2018

Hayden Croft’s short film “Last Wish” was an official selection at Film Invasion Los Angeles in 2018 and, honestly, would have likely won “Best Short Comedy” if that award had existed at the time.  (We realized the next year that we had to expand our award categories.). This nuanced, daring comedy will always be one of my favorites, because it is not just hilarious also sparks debate.

Hayden’s previous film “New Age, Olde English” screened at the Sherman Oaks Film Festival in 2016 and when I started the podcast he was in the first batch of filmmakers whom I reached out to.  (You can hear his first interview here.)  When he hit us with his new work, it made sense to have him come in to talk about “Last Wish” as well.

Hayden Croft is one of my favorite filmmakers.  He writes every day and has even published a wonderful book of short stories that I can absolutely recommend.  Go to his website to get your copy.
